Uploading Your Films

This is how to upload all of your festival's films at once. Put the video files and film details in your
dedicated folder, and MovieBloc will review them and add them to your festival page.

For festival organizers SFTP upload Sep 2026
You don't have to add films one at a time.
Upload your videos and images to the dedicated folder, and put the film details in a single spreadsheet alongside them. MovieBloc takes care of the rest.

1Your credentials

MovieBloc issues an account per festival and sends it to you. You'll receive something like this.

What you'll receive
Hosts-xxxxxxxx.server.transfer.ap-northeast-2.amazonaws.com
Port22
ProtocolSFTP (not FTP)
UsernameBased on your festival address
PasswordAs provided
We can't tell you the password again. MovieBloc doesn't keep a copy of it. If you lose it, ask your contact to issue a new one — the previous password stops working at that point.

2Getting an SFTP app

Any app that supports SFTP will do. These free ones are widely used.

Adding sftp:// in front of the host sets the protocol automatically. Some apps have a separate field where you choose SFTP directly instead.

3What to upload

When you connect, your festival's own folder opens. Put all of the files together in there — you don't need to create any subfolders.

📁 (the folder that opens when you connect) 📄 film_info.xlsx ← film details (required, keep this exact name) 🎬 the_end_of_summer.mp4 ← video 🖼 the_end_of_summer_poster.jpg ← poster (portrait) 🖼 the_end_of_summer_still1.jpg ← still (landscape) 🎬 two_cities.mp4 🖼 two_cities_still1.jpg
The details file must keep the name film_info.xlsx exactly. We won't find it under any other name.

5Once everything is uploaded

When you're done, let your contact know. MovieBloc reads the spreadsheet, adds the films and places them on your festival page.

If you uploaded something by mistake or need to fix the details, correct the files and spreadsheet, upload them again and let your contact know. For films that are already added, MovieBloc will make the changes.
